05:29 pm - Calling all sickies!
All you non-disease-ridden people better stay home cuz we're contagious and so is the FUN!
We're gonna have gay-um night over at our house starting around 6pm but since we are sicky sick you might not want to join unless you are too. Plus, you'd have an unfair advantage without all the nose-blowing, coughing, and stuffy HEDiness.
So bring your Nyquil and your Delsum and join us for some laffs along with our coffs.
Our place...tonight....6pm-ish.
Love,
M&K

02:19 pm - GOA aftermath
I'm home sick today. GOA PARTY wore me out but it was worth it. I'm typing this on my laptop right now which survived being drowned in a pool of rain. I'm listening to the recording of all the djs from that night which I can probably upload or burn to cds for people who want them.

Stupid angry letters left on door steps from neighbors suggests that I might have to be stricter with the craziness on my front porch this summer. It's really too bad but completely understandable. Oh, and in case you're wondering....it wasn't those neighbors, but some other ones on 28th. I don't know who actually but they weren't happy and asked that I not repeat last summer (oops!). This makes me sad and a bit guilty-feeling. Hmmmmph.....
Anywho...playing with my new-ish mp3 djing thingy and the latest beta of my dj software makes me happier. Also another neighbor of mine makes me very happy.
Okay...off to buy some wine for my parentals and then to pack for my trip southward this weekend.
Love to all you lovelies out there!

Thanks everyone for your help with my "problem". It's now become a permanent mangina. Things could be worse I suppose. Now I can reenact Silence of the Lambs a lot easier. "It puts the lotion in the basket"....

09:24 pm - una pregunta
So, I have been noticing a marked change in the size of my penis. It seems that everyday it gets a little smaller.
Right now it is the size of a raisin, a plump and juicey raisin, but still I am concerned. What can I do about this? Any advice?

You know....work blocking LJ means I never read or post here anymore. I just skimmed a week's worth of LJ in 10 minutes. Not such an easy task. Stupid firewalls. I miss my daily distraction. Anywho....I'm off to bed. Hope y'all are having a good night whether yr awake or sleeping already.

02:26 pm - Pointless update
Oly was quite relaxing and fun.
We need to do more stuff outdoors minus fancy sound systems.
My song doesn't really fit in with the new SSO comp but I'm happy to be on it anyways.
Things keep moving forward. Life is still weird, but when wasn't it?
Hope everyone's doing well.

10:16 am - The day so far
I'm going to go eat a lazy bones special at the Canterbury in a bit. And drink a bloody mary.
Right now on the front porch of Chis, Dan and Jim's house, there is some ridiculous silly music emanating from my boomtube and inside Marc and Jessica are rocking the hardcore. It's a little morning ChickenHed party proper.
I'm wearing my AC/DC pajamas that Jasmine gave me for X-mas. I think I'll keep 'em on for brekkie.
I can't wait to see some of you who I haven't seen for awhile. I've been at this house for days and today I'm hoping to get out and about.
Oh, and last night Jondue and I slept outside on couches while the rain was falling softly in the background. This morning I woke up to the sun shining on my face.
I love you guys. Thank you all for being in my life.

Being alone is weird right now.
I'm trying to appreciate it though as I'll most likely be staying in Seattle through the weekend so I won't get another opportunity for awhile.
I can't wait to be up there and to see everyone and be in the same place with them. I hope my presence is helpful in some way.
I'd really like to be in Volunteer Park in 30 minutes. I'll have to play some loud music here as an EarthPrance-like link-up.

12:42 pm - Monday
I couldn't stay at work today. I'm going to be at my house if anyone wants to come over. I'd love to have friends around. Zsa Zsa and J are here and I believe Kadesh and Meg are coming over in a bit.
I love you all.

I miss you so much jeremy. I love you so much. You always will be one of the weirdest and most wonderful of human creatures to walk this earth. May your journey into whatever be as awesome as you were. Thank God I knew you. I wish you were here with me right now. The heart can bear a lot of pain. May my own pain be a reservoir of peace for all of us that are hurting right now. I know, I know....I say it a lot. But I cannot emphasize how much I love you all. Okay,.,.I can't see the screen I'm typing on cuz my contacts are all coated with my stupid tears. I wish I could hug us all. Mostly I wish I could hug you Jeremey. I love you,
11:34 am
This fucking sucks.....I don't have anything to say. I keep asking why and it doesn't help.
Please anybody with info about the Seattle shooting please please give us updates!!!
I want to know who the 7 people are and the status of the people in critical condition, in particular Jeremey and Jason.
I love you all.
God this is soooooo fucking fucking fucked.
I can't think of anything intelligent to say.
oh and Jasmine and Faith are with me and have cell phones so call us if you have any news at all.

at ambient awakenings...
If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer . . .
If you're a pretender, come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!
(Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends)
ambient/downbeat grooves at one of my favorite cafes in town, burner owned and operated, the
Chance of Rain Cafe. this lovely nook just off hawthorne has cushy goodness galore, wi-fi, and a
tasty assortment of art, beer, wine, coffee, tea, and people.
**Note that this event ends at 1am, so come out early!**
LINEUP:
*Ahsan* (hey that's me!/ambient awakenings)
*Devon*(ambient awakenings)
Opening downbient tomfoolery from these two guys. patrick will have copies of his new mix cd,
Jazzadelic Dubism, for anyone that proves to him they are not wearing underwear.
*Will Koomjian* (The Fridge)
One of the baristas, Nick, asked for some funk. in gratitude for those that keep us happily
wired, we're bringing the funk. introducing Will, the one man soul mass transit system. old
skool funknsoul at its finest.
*Phat H.O.M.O.* (Revelations 18:2)
Honestly, I think we book this guy just to scare away those annoying politically correct types.
though he doesn't bust it out much, I made a special request for alex to shape a set out of his
killer collection of old skool rootsy dub. have I mentioned that I am a Conquering Lion of the
Tribe of Judah?
*Matty2K* (Chickenhed)
Ah, this guy. it's always a delight to have Matilda play some groovadelic down and midtempo. but
despite Matty's proclamations, neither we nor the venue owners support nor endorse his $1
mustache rides.
*Deafchild* (Jedeye Sound/Team Cowper)
In my opinion, one of the finest uptempo DJs in the northwest. it is a rare treat to snag him
for a downbeat set, this will be utter sweetness. a slow, stewing psychedelic groove of ambient,
down and midtempo. seriously, the last time we booked him in such a setting was one of my
favorite downbeat DJ sets, this is not to be missed.
VISUALS
the side room of the cafe will be feature interactive video feedback Hijinks courtesy of
Jonathan Clark, as well as animation from Vance Feldman, compulsive designer extraordinare

and because we gotta justify the name of this event somehow, a free cup of borsht to every third
customer while supplies last.

Foot sliding deeper into sand,
Pebbles roll off and settle in pools,
Two rocks lay in the sun,
Solid, yet moveable,
The warmth of the sun suddenly cooled by passing clouds,
The surface of each stone responds in turn,
Both sit perfectly just as they are,
Eventually returned to sea,
To enter the tumult,
Smooth surface reflecting years of abrasion,
The surface, while still wet reflecting back,
The shifting light from the sky,
Time moves slowly,
And all the beach lies beautiful and endless,
Til crazy monkeys come to fuck shit up,
Tossing assortments of pebbles and rocks,
Into the sky,
Dropping down like a music box,
Or a toilet flushing,
Or a stomach gurgling,
Silly monkeys, they don't mind,
It's still just as peaceful,
Amidst this violent intrusion,
And once again,
They leave,
And the pebbles lie still.
